Elizabeth's Teaching

As an educator I facilitate higher order thinking through such strategies as modeling, group discussion, and reciprocal teaching. Via data driven instruction used to differentiate learning I teach my students to expand upon their basic skills and apply their mastery in multiple contexts. Utilizing my background in drama, art, and theater, I utilize  creative and multiple action oriented authentic assessment techniques such as portfolios, art projects, and performances.  I believe that the best way to maintain student discipline is to set routines and rituals that students follow every day and to keep them engaged in active student-centered learning.
